Educational concept and teaching program
Bilingual learning as early as kindergarten
The best time to learn languages is from birth up to the age of 8 years old. From the age of two onwards, a child is aware of the languages spoken around him/her, and uses them to express himself clearly. That is why, at Marseille International School, learning languages is not considered as a subject in itself. The child should simply be carrying out activities that are divided up into half-days of English or French, and accompanied by teaching staff that are English or French native speaking.
At Marseille International School, English is not a foreign language.
A school where your child blossoms and is cared for
Marseille International School offers your child a calm and safe environment purpose designed for his/her needs. For this reason, we have deliberately chosen to limit number of students per class. We combine order and spontaneity, discipline and independence, and promote social skills and moral value teaching in the classroom. We hold creativity in high esteem and aim to share the region's cultural riches with the child through numerous activities. We teach how to live with nature, to get to understand it, and thus experience the joy of discovery. Finally, we use multi-media resources, technologies available to children from birth, because they, like language learning, immediately appeal to broad conceptual understanding. Therefore, at Marseille International School, activities are designed to stimulate the individual spirit of initiative, whilst the individual is encouraged to participate productively in a group situation and to acquire a sense of responsibility.
Your child builds independence in preparation for his/her introduction into society.
Our experience and independence from all ideology caters for your child's fundamental needs
At EPIM, the teaching team is made up exclusively of specialists. Armed with their expertise, they model individualised educational principles, drawing on the natural predisposition of each child. The effectiveness of the programme is further enhanced by stimulating the child's thought and curiosity to speed up development and allow each child's personality to blossom. Therefore, teachers organise group activities with each child in mind.
Our decisions are purely based on the grounds of your child's interest and future.
Your satisfaction and your child's well-being are our main concern
At EPIM, each decision taken is backed with the desire to anticipate your expectations of what is best for your child's interest, enjoyment and success during his/her education. Each step taken by our highly motivated educational team is driven by our desire to chosen step is taken in the desire by the highly motivated educational team of constantly improving their professional performance.
Your child will receive the utmost care.
The curriculum is modelled on the educational programme conceived and developed specifically for international schools, and notably, young learners aged three to 12 years old. The programme is interdisciplinary and yet each subject remains a coherent whole.
Curriculum
Your child:
- Develops a thorough understanding of essential concepts;
- Acquires and practises a range of necessary skills for development;
- Develops a positive attitude towards learning, the environment and other people;
- Has the opportunity for involvement in responsible action and social interaction.
The programme uses a range of measurement strategies designed to accurately evaluate your child's learning and to identify targets for improvement.
Through daily activities, the teaching staff measures the children's progress in knowledge and approach. This assessment allows the teachers to plan effectively for their activities based on their observation of each child's development, so that each pupil learns in the best possible way for him/her. Parents are regularly updated on their child's progress.
The Primary programme is an excellent preparation for the 12-16 international curriculum. Both programmes emphasise critical thinking, personal responsibility over learning, curiorisity and an enquiring mind.
The International Primary curriculum integrates the key points of the national curriculum, so that your child may reintegrate it later with ease, if desired. Such is true for students transferring from international schools as the level and approach is very much the same throughout all international schools following this programme.
