What do French children do upon completion of EPIM schools?
Even though International Schools were originally created to serve the needs of children of diplomats and expatriate parents, today they also welcome children from local families seeking quality education that will prepare their children to continue their schooling in the French school system. Such is the case at the EPIM Schools where French children go forward, armed with solid primary learning and a completed educational program from a serious private French school.

The educational program implemented by
EPIM Schools was developed over the course of several decades by experts in
International Schools around the world, pooling the best practices from their respective
country's schools.
Two educational approaches currently
« dominate » the world, both sharing the same primary objective of providing
international children, who customarily follow their parents from one country
to another every two or three years, with the possibility of finding the same
educational program wherever they go in the world.
It is reassuring to know that these two
programs are identical; educational experiences and best practices around the
world converge toward a single approach, exemplifying pedagogical good sense. Yet,
France
stands out an exception having elected its own method.
It is also reassuring to know that these
two International Programs, one of which is implemented at EPIM Schools, are
not the brainchild of a single pedagogical expert promoting a would-be miraculous
method that could marginalize children and from which children never fully escape.
The educational program implemented at the EPIM does not marginalize children.
Its clearly-defined pedagogical approach has been tested the world over; its
objectives are the same as other pedagogical programs around the world, notably
that of France:
acquisition of fundamental learning, the growth and well-being of the child, to
a greater or less degree of success.
Thus, French children are not
marginalized upon completing their primary education at the EPIM.
Furthermore, an important objective of
the International program is to enable children to feel at home everywhere in
the world. In order to achieve this, the best preparation is for children to
learn how to learn and to love learning. Children having completed their
primary education at the EPIM are capable of going to the other side of the
world and feeling at ease, and they are capable of attending the French public
school across the street.
Finally, a major concern at the EPIM is to ensure, thanks to half of its French
teaching team trained in French curriculum and experienced in French schools,
from nursery school to middle school, that the program implemented, while
compatible with the International School approach, includes all of the requirements
of the French National Education Program and covers all the skills and
competencies it demands.
Thus, the level of EPIM students is formally
evaluated according to the criteria of French National Education. EPIM teacher
also give students the evaluations established by the Academy.
Finally, the report file that follows
students throughout their EPIM schooling is in two languages: half in English according
to the standards of International Schools, and half in French according to the
criteria of French National Education. Therefore, these reports can be
submitted to any public or private French school.
Upon completion of their studies at the EPIM, children
can enter an International school, which today exist in every corner of the
world, or a French school offering the same educational approach, as well as any
public or private French school.
