Theater Arts in English for children - The EPIM Leisure Club opens its doors
The Arts in English children's Leisure Club began Wednesday, September 16th. Kindergarten and primary school children improve their English through extra practice actually speaking English. This extra practice is acquired in a leisurely way as they take part in theater activities with a qualified teacher who is a native English-speaker. Activities are designed for children from 4 to 10 years of age who attend the Club to practice English while enjoying 'intelligent fun'.

The Club offers a playful, multi-disciplinary approach to the arts: theater, mime, dance, mask making, make-up, costume design, painting stage scenery and backdrops, etc. What is essential is that kids get extra practice speaking with a native English speaker, and at the same time, open a new window onto what "art" is all about, in a way accessible to youngsters. Practically speaking, this always involves actually speaking English! That's the extra practice kids in France really need. And that is why the overall organizing activity is theater, the art of the spoken word. However, all other artistic disciplines can come into play as well. And play is should be. These are pleasant amateur activities, which is why a typical class schedules a mix of at least two or three mediums. This allows a refreshing change for more intelligent fun, thus avoiding tedium. We are not out to make future theater professionals, rather to nurture happy, confident English speakers who understand the arts for having practiced them during their childhood.Come join us to offer your child the opportunity to experience the Arts in English, playing theater games with a native English speaker.
