Creating Story Sacks together- How parents can actively participate with EPIM school life
Story sacks were developed by a Head teacher in England as an idea to help adults share books with children in a positive, theatrical, interactive and fun way. The story sacks will be stored in the library area and will certainly help stories come alive; this is especially helpful an international school where the story may not be in a child's first language.

An initial meeting was held at school and many parents
are now busy putting ideas together for a chosen story sack. The sacks include
a copy of the story and objects to support. In a story sack for Goldilocks for
example, we will find three bowls, three spoons, puppets for the characters... there are many possibilities limited only by
your imagination!
Next meeting will be held December 6
th. We will
be sharing our story sacks choices and working together on the contents and
presentations. Difficult choice given the fact that there are often many
different versions for the same story around the world! A great and exciting
opportunity to share different cultures and languages with the same aim of
bringing stories alive for our children of 15 different nationalities.
